Students began preparing for their mini #2. Students worked with the story "The Mystery of Round Hill Cave" and answered questions regarding the text. Students had to cite evidence from the text to support their answers. The instructions are in the photo to the right. The file below is what we will be using all week for mini #2.
HOMEWORK: Begin Unit 3 Week 1 Vocab, work on your research project due WEDNESDAY. If you received < 89 on your Unit 2 Vocab test you may complete the worksheet below to add points to your test grade. DUE TOMORROW! It is your choice whether you want to do it or not. There are two sides to the sheet, I will not accept it if it is incomplete. Not being able to access Skyward is not a reason to not complete the assignment. Complete it anyway!

Students were also given time to finish the questions from yesterday if they were not complete.

Using the text/stories above, students composed their mini #2. Students wrote a five paragraph essay with the guidance shown. Students were also allowed to use all of the work we have done this week to aide them.
Prompt: Think about the ending of "The Mystery of Round Hill Cave" and the ending of "The Legend of Old Leatherman." In an essay, compare the two endings. In what ways are the endings similar? In what ways are the endings different? Are all the loose ends tied up? Which ending do you prefer? Use details from both the mystery and the legend in your answer.
