We discussed circle maps. Circle maps are used to define something in a context. We created circle maps defining our expectations in the context of this school year. Students had to fill their
circle maps with eight examples.
After filling their circle map, students highlighted "similar" items to make connections to "like ideas." They then named those groupings to make categories.

Continuing our discussion on circle maps, students highlighted "similar" items to make connections to "like ideas." They then named those groupings to make categories. Students worked in small groups to come up with the top three items from their circle maps that they could agree on. Finally, we prepared a class list that every student signed. This is our pact, our classroom expectations for the 7th grade school year.
