Prompt: Consider the two Native American legends, "How Rabbit Tricked the Weasels" and "The Fire Bringer," which are both about the origin of fire. If you had to choose one tale as being true, which one would it be? Write an argument to persuade the reader of your view, citing evidence from the story to support your claim.

Some students took additional time to finish their essay from yesterday.
Students composed "thank you notes." They could write to whomever they wanted on any subject they wanted. They must follow the format to the left and use at least: one simple, one compound, and one complex sentence for a minimum of three sentences total. Below are pictured examples. After students' cards were reviewed, they were allowed to decorate the front of their cards as they wanted.
